IN MEMORY OF MOMMY/NANAY RANIZA ALCOSEBA

January 27,2009. My friend Luigie sent an offline message thru YM-yahoo messenger informing me that mommy raniza was dead.I was shocked and immediately asked some information what had happened...then i asked other friends who are closed to mommy raniza but they are not yet aware of the news too.. so i received a reply from Luigie again and said.. ray mommy was drawned in the beach bec. of surfing..then i asked myself why why why it happened?

then the next day January 28, news spread out, emails received from different friends that mommy raniza really passed away.. According to the source Mommy was drawned last sunday January 25,2009.

Today January 29,2009, I have received a copy of mommy Raniza's last email to her closed friends:

Good day! Hows life cheating now a days? hope everythings fine both of you there. Will, me its a very nice experience to attend a meeting with Canadian Chamber of Commerce last Thursday night. to meet them is a great opportunity because they are consulate all over Ecuador and they are very successful businessman all over the country. To be with them its like i start asking my self am i, belong to them? but I have a dream to help other people specially in our country Philippines. so I need to talked to them what is my vision,purpose and dream for a future. I open some businessman about my charity dream. I open to them about the hospital in Guayaquil a Cancer hospital that I wanted to help. they ask me a picture or Video presentation. and I said sure next meeting march 10, 2009 but when we travel going home. we ride a bus because i told to Alan its adventure we both setting down, talking whole trip, we rest driving for a while its a long trip. about 5hrs. driving by car to reach city of Guayaquil. but when we travel going home I put my Video Camera bag at the top of our seats. then when we reach the province of Montanita. Alan asked me to go down the bus and looked our bags and suitcase maybe somebody claim it. so I go down the bus. when I come back to our seats my Video Camera bag was open.then someone stolen my Video Cam.but very sad Alan didn't notice. so I really sad this time because I lost the most special thing that can help more life to live in this world. but i`m still hoping that God touched their heart when they look at inside the camera that most hopeless and lessfuturnate children in the cancer hospital. they will return my Video Camera. we try to ask somebody to make a spanish words for reward. then we posting all over the place. 1000 dollar if someone return the camera. this country really more worst than our country.by the way friends, see you soon take care mo tanan diha ha. thats my life for now...im trying not to think my Video Camera so that I can go on. but my heart very sad because my 1,679 dollar camera just buy last Oct.28,2008. and given to me when I was arrived here in Ecuador last Nov.1,2008. then January 23,2009 at 1pm. I lost it...I was ashem with Alan my friends because inorder me to stay here for another 3months he needs to pay 2,000 dollars. processing because my ticket is only 3 months so he need to pay the finalty for extension. and the Visa. Friends, Life is really like a Win-win. We win for my extension stay but I lost my Video Camera same Date... life is like a Game.... we need to play inorder to win... take care always..

Hi guys,This is really shocking and tragic..i didnt know till i've seen your posting about the tragedy of Raneza.I called that no. Janet provided and have spoken to Alan - He said to me that Raneza has passed aways, she was drowned and swept by the current while they were having a swim/snorkling in the ocean in ecuador. They were 4 of them and only Raneza did not survive.This was happened on Sunday after we got Raneza's email on saturday about her camera. Alan says that they buried Raneza's body day after the tragedy and he didnt get an autosy for her body as he dont wants Raneza's body be open and giving away her internal organs and worst thing is, he can not even provide a death certificate for her. -Guys, I dont want to be suspesious but pagkakaron... im shaking and in pain for the loss of our dear friend.... i hope i am just dreaming..

HOW TO ENJOY LIFE MORE!!!

In The Magic of Starting Small, I made the point that it is your days that define your life. In this article, I want to challenge the common perception that it is only possible to enjoy your leisure time. In particular, this article is targeted at the professional stuck in the 9 to 5 grind who longs for the weekend and, in the process, has given up on trying to find pleasure in the ordinary experiences we have every day.

1. Appreciate Beauty. Each day we come across beauty in a number of shapes and forms. It’s a shame, then, that many people have become so accustomed to this beauty that it largely goes unappreciated. I suggest looking again at the people, plants, gadgets, and buildings (to name but a few examples) around you and taking a moment to appreciate what makes them so special.

2. Connect With Nature. Nature is an amazing healer for the stresses and strains of modern life. Eating lunch in the park, attending to a vegetable garden in your backyard, or watching the sunset are just a few simple ideas for how you can enjoy the outdoors on a daily basis.

3. Laugh. E. E. Cummings once said “the most wasted of all days is one without laughter.” How very true. Never be too busy to laugh, or too serious to smile. Instead, surround yourself with fun people and don’t get caught up in your own sense of importance.

4. Have Simple Pleasures. A good cup of coffee when I first wake. Time spent playing with my 8 month old son. Cooking a nice meal in the evening. These may not seem terribly exciting, but they are some of the simple pleasures I enjoy in life. If you slow down for just a moment and take the time to appreciate these ordinary events, life becomes instantly more enjoyable.

5. Connect With People. In so many ways, it is our relationships with people that give us the most happiness in life. Perhaps, then, the best way to enjoy your work more is not to get a raise or a promotion, but rather to build rewarding relationships with your co-workers.

6. Learn. There is a strong link between learning and happiness. Given this, there is no excuse not to be stimulating your brain and learning something new each day. My favorite way to find time for learning is to make the most of the commute to and from work. Audiobooks and podcasts are great for this purpose.

7. Rethink Your Mornings and Evenings. Are the mornings a mad rush for you to get out the door? Do you switch off the TV at night and go straight to bed? I have personally experienced the profound benefits of establishing a routine in the morning and evening. For example, in the morning you may choose to wake an hour earlier and spend the time working on yourself, whether it be reading, writing or exercising. In the evening, consider spending some time just before bed reviewing your day or in meditation.

8. Celebrate Your Successes. During a normal day we are sure to have some minor successes. Perhaps you have successfully dealt with a difficult customer, made a sale, or received a nice compliment for your work. These aren’t events worth throwing a party for, but why not take a moment to celebrate your success? Share the experience with someone else, reward yourself with a nice lunch, or just give yourself a mental pat on the back.

Proposed compulsory OFW welfare insurance plan hit

MANILA, Philippines - A migrant group has blasted the proposed compulsory welfare insurance plan for overseas Filipino workers (OFW), saying it would only be an additional burden for them.

Migrante Saudi Arabia Chairperson A.M. Ociones issued the statement after Cagayan de Oro Rep. Rufus Rodriguez proposed House Bill 5621 that would create a welfare insurance program in addition to the benefits OFWs get from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

“While we welcome all efforts by our legislators to address the problems of migrants-in-distress. We believe this scheme would only aggravate the collection of all sorts of fees and fund-raising schemes from migrant workers," said Ociones.

Under the bill, the proposed insurance program shall cover the following:

* Accidental Death Benefit of up to US$15,000 or more than P700,000;
* Survivor's Benefit in case of natural death, of up to US$10,000 or more than P470,000;
* Permanent Total Disablement of up to US$7,500 more than P350,000;
* Repatriation of Bodily Remains, including burial, of up to US$15,000 or more than P700,000;
* Repatriation due to Emergency Evacuation and legitimate causes of up to US$1,000 or more than P47,000;
* Subsistence Allowance of US$100 per month for six months totaling US$600 or more than P28,000; and
* Legitimate Monetary Claims for Unpaid/Rightful and Just Wages of up to US$4,500 or more than P200,000.

Also, the bill requires recruitment agencies to pay a premium of US$3 or about P140 per month to OWWA for the insurance coverage.

However, Migrante Saudi Arabia said that this fee would probably only be passed on to the would-be migrant workers.

“Thus we see only as an additional burden the $3 premium on top of the regular and already compulsory $25 OWWA fee and P900 PhilHealth fee," said Ociones.

Moreover, instead of an independent insurance plan, Ociones proposed that the 2004 OWWA Omnibus Policy be scrapped and the medical insurance coverage from PhilHealth be returned to OWWA.

Once returned to OWWA, he said the medical insurance coverage should be expanded by lowering the age of beneficiaries and widening its scope to include other family members.

Ociones also said that the mandate of OWWA should be expanded into that of a social security agency, effectively providing retirement plans and more benefits like scholarships and livelihood assistance for OFWs.

“Otherwise, everything would all boil down again to milking the migrants while freeing the government of its responsibility towards migrants-in-distress," he said. - Kimberly Jane T. Tan,

[December 11, 2008/ Manila] - Filipinos abroad now have access to an Internet phone that allows them to call any Philippine landline or mobile number for as low as P6.50 per minute!
